Never did I ever imagine that, for one person, you would be their entire world.
Whenever I travelled with my mother as a child, I felt so confident, so secure—holding her hand, looking into her eyes, trusting her completely. But today, as a mother who has recently suffered from vertigo, I realise how hard it truly is to be someone’s world.
Making sure your child has a smile throughout the journey puts you under a quiet pressure. A pressure no one really sees.
I never imagined what my mother must have felt managing three kids all by herself while travelling—being strong in her head, making sure she was “fine,” ensuring we were well fed, and hiding her fear of getting sick or fainting. All while knowing her children were relying on her for direction.
This constant pressure of being someone’s world is deeply fulfilling, yet overwhelming.
A feeling only a mother can truly understand.
Here is a shout-out to all mothers who have felt lonely while travelling alone with their children. We know how it feels. But I assure you—there is an external power guiding both us and our children. We just need to follow the right direction.
Negative thoughts won’t help.
Mamas, take this moment. Be your child’s best friend. This is the time when you connect with them the most.
Enjoy the flight, my friends—because it is a long journey ahead.
Believe me, there are so many mums around you, invisible passengers, each carrying their own struggles.
You are not travelling alone.
Bon Voyage. 💛
